The San Rafael Swell

245 miles from Settlers Junction RV Park - 3-hour 30-minute drive
The San Rafael Swell is one of Utah’s most iconic geological features. The 75-mile wide dome-shaped anticline measures about 40 by 60 miles and consists primarily of sandstone, shale, and limestone rocks pushed up millions of years ago during the Cenozoic Era (the last era). Today at the San Rafael Swell, you can find ancient art on its walls, arches in the old rock, and even a slot canyon.
